In a far-flung primary school in Maedtekha, Chhukha, children walk for hours to get to school without a boarding facility. Three Bhutanese boxers will compete at the Asian Boxing Confederation’s Under-22 Youth Championship in Astana, Kazakhstan. The two-week-long championship will begin this Saturday. Over 400 boxers from 24 countries will compete at the championship. The event is leading up to the Youth World Boxing Championship scheduled to take place in Porec, Croatia, later this year.

Vegetables, with their diverse textures and flavours, offer a wholesome and nutritious alternative to meat in any culinary endeavour. To meticulously craft vegetarian dishes and tantalise their taste buds, 35 individuals, mostly nuns from the Kuenga Rabten Nunnery in Trongsa took part in a two-week-long vegetarian culinary arts training recently.

The Panchfaly stream has been worrying the residents of Taraythang and Umling Gewogs. During the monsoon, the bridge often gets washed away by the swollen stream, making it difficult for people to travel to Gelephu for shopping and other important work. However, a permanent bridge is set to be completed next July. This is expected to provide a permanent solution, providing a reliable way for people to connect with the rest of the gewogs, regardless of the weather.
